Where is Bord Gáis Energy Theatre located?

How do I find out when to arrive and what time a show starts?
Your ticket will state the show start time and doors generally open one hour before the show commences. Additional information can also be found on our website, on each individual show page. If you purchased your tickets online through Ticketmaster, you will receive an email containing all show details in the days prior to the show. Please note that due to the nature of live entertainment, all times are approximate and subject to change.
How do I choose the best seat and are boxes available to book?
If purchasing online through Ticketmaster, you can use the seating map on each show page for guidance. Depending on the production, an interactive seating map may be available, otherwise, the website will automatically choose the best available seats in your desired area.
When purchasing tickets over the phone with Ticketmaster or in-person from our Box Office, we will happily assist you with finding the best seats.
Theatre boxes are available to book for most shows but please note that their availability per performance is limited. If you have a box booking enquiry, contact our Group Bookings & Access Department at +353 (0) 1 677 7770 or groups@bgetheatre.ie.
Can I bring children to the theatre and what is the age policy?
All children aged 3 and over can visit the theatre with a valid ticket. Babes in arms and infants aged 2 and under will not be permitted into the theatre, unless a performance is classed as a children’s show. In such case, infants aged 2 and under are admitted free of charge and without a need to purchase a ticket, as no seat will be allocated.
Our policy is that only one infant is permitted per family and if you are bringing other children along with an infant, it is advisable that at least two adults are in attendance. On occasion, if a child becomes upset during a performance, you may be asked to leave the auditorium temporarily.
Children’s tickets are for children aged 3 to 15, who must be accompanied by a patron aged 16 or over. Please check individual show information for any further age restrictions, parental advisory and show-specific policies.
Will I be able to have a snack and a drink at the theatre?
There are four kiosks in the theatre where you can buy tea, coffee, confectionery and popcorn. On every floor, you will also find a fully licensed bar. There are plenty of restaurants surrounding the theatre that offer pre-theatre menu options. Furthermore, if you are a member of the Circle Club, our exclusive Private Members Club, you can dine in the club’s restaurant and enjoy a meal and a drink in style, in the heart of the theatre. Are there parking facilities at the theatre?
The theatre does not have its own car park. However, there are plenty of other parking options in the vicinity, with the nearest car park being Q-Park Grand Canal Square located on Chimney View. For more information, please refer to our GETTING HERE page.
What do I do if my tickets have not arrived in time for the show?
Please contact the point of sale where you purchased the tickets and they will be able to assist you. For more information, please refer to the CONTACT US section for a comprehensive list of contact details.
Are there cloakroom facilities at the theatre?
Our cloakroom is not currently in operation and we do not have bag storage facilities. Please bring only one small bag for your visit as large bags will not be permitted inside the auditorium.
Is there a policy for late arrivals?
Each show has a different latecomer policy. We endeavour to seat all latecomers where possible, with as little disturbance as possible for the rest of the audience. This will tend to be during moments of applause, but is always at the discretion of the artist and producer.
Can I use e-cigarettes at the theatre?
Smoking and E-cigarettes are not allowed in any part of the theatre. This includes the auditorium and foyer.
Bord Gáis Energy Theatre Bars & Private Clubs Tipping Policy
100% of all tips and gratuities received are fully distributed directly to staff that served you in line with the Payment of Wages (Tips and Gratuities) (Amendment) Act 2022. We do not add any service charges to your bill.
Can I bring my own alcohol to the venue?
As we are licensed premises it is not permitted to bring your own alcohol. For most events at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, alcoholic beverages are available for purchase from the bar. Customers are not permitted to bring in alcoholic beverages from outside and may not leave with alcohol purchased inside Bord Gáis Energy Theatre. Management reserves the right to refuse the sale of alcohol to any customer. Please be aware that it is the policy of the theatre to require all customers who appear to be 21 years of age or younger to present a valid form of ID with proof of age in order to purchase alcoholic beverages. We accept only the following forms of identification: a valid Garda National Age Card; a valid passport; a valid driver’s licence.
Will my bag be searched?
All bags and belongings are subject to search upon entry to ensure the safety, as well as the enjoyment, of all patrons. Bottles brought onto the premises will be checked for alcoholic content. Any alcohol found on a person will be confiscated in accordance with our policy prohibiting alcoholic beverages to be brought into the venue from outside.
May I take photos?
Most performances hosted at the venue maintain a strict policy of no photography, filming or recording in the auditorium during performances, unless clearly specified otherwise.
For one-off concerts and productions, it is at the discretion of the artists and their representatives whether a personal non-professional camera can be used without causing a distraction to the performance and audience. If a patron is approached by our staff and asked to stop taking photos, this request must be adhered to.
Who do I contact for lost property?
If you lose property at an event at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, please contact us as soon as possible during office hours (Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM). Any lost property that is found in the venue is handed into the management office. Please call the reception on +353 (0) 1 677 7999 or email justask@bgetheatre.ie.

Can I have a post-show drink?
The theatre bars on each floor are open pre-show and during the interval, but close with the fall of the curtain. Unfortunately, it is not possible to order post-show drinks from these bars.

How do I enquire about the Circle Club?

How do I know what time the show I am attending will finish?
Your tickets will give information on show start times and door opening times. If you booked your tickets online via Ticketmaster, you will receive an email in the days prior to the show specifying further information, including show duration. We will also aim to communicate these details on our website close in advance of the shows opening. Please note that all times are approximate and subject to change due to the nature of live entertainment.
How do I purchase tickets?
You can purchase Bord Gáis Energy Theatre tickets online via Ticketmaster or in person at our box office. To book online, use the individual show detail page on our website to guide you, or visit our official vendor Ticketmaster directly at www.ticketmaster.ie.
For group and access bookings, please refer to the GROUPS & ACCESS BOOKINGS section and contact the dedicated department.
To book in person, please visit the theatre’s Box Office during opening hours.
No third-party ticket vendors are authorised by Bord Gáis Energy Theatre.
What fees may apply to my ticket purchase?
All prices include a €1.50 facilities fee per ticket. The money raised from the facilities fee contributes to the ongoing refurbishment and improvement of the theatre.
Telephone and Internet bookings are subject to a maximum service charge of €7.15 per ticket.
There are no Ticketmaster service charges when you book in person at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre Box Office. The facilities fee charge is still applicable, regardless of point of sale.
Can I receive a refund for my tickets?
Tickets cannot be refunded unless the performance is cancelled. If a cancellation occurs, please contact your point of purchase to enquire about the refund.
Due to the nature of live entertainment, there may be rare occasions where, due to technical difficulties, the performance will have to stop for a short period of time. No refund or compensation will be given should a stop in the performance occur.
I have bought tickets via a third-party vendor, can you assist me with a refund or exchange?
We do not condone or endorse any third-party sales. Ticketmaster are our only approved and official ticket vendor. All online purchases should be made via www.bordgaisenergytheatre.ie or www.ticketmaster.ie. Unfortunately, if purchased completely outside of our system, we cannot assist with a refund or exchange. The tickets belong to the purchaser and due to data protection, we cannot share or give information surrounding the booking to anyone but the original booker.
How do I purchase for a group or make an access booking?
If you would like to purchase tickets for a group or make an access booking, please contact our Group Bookings & Access Department at +353 (0) 1 677 7770 or groups@bgetheatre.ie. I have tickets and I want to exchange them for another performance – is that possible?
Provided there is availability, it may be possible to change your booking to another performance of the same show. Please note that tickets will need to be exchanged no later than 24 hours before the original performance and cannot be exchanged on the day of the event. Additionally, as ticket prices vary depending on the performance day, you may be asked to pay for the difference.

If a show is sold out, is there a cancellation / waiting list available?
Unfortunately, we do not have a cancellation / waiting list for sold out performances. If a show is fully sold out, we recommend keeping an eye on our website and social media channels for announcements in case any additional tickets become available.
Are there concessions available?
Where applicable, we offer a limited number of discounted tickets to senior citizens, patrons who are registered as disabled (and a carer), students and children. Concessions may not be available for all performances.
What are the opening times for the Box Office?
If you wish to purchase tickets in person, our Box Office is normally open Monday – Friday, 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
When there is an evening or weekend performance, the Box Office is also open for 1 hour* before showtime. The Box Office is closed when there is no performance on weekends and bank holidays. (*Times may vary for some matinée performances.)
Please be advised that on performance days, general sales for tickets cannot be made 30 minutes before a show, as Box Office are busy with ticket collections and sales for that performance.
