For the first time, Dublin International Film Festival (DIFF) presents its Closing Night Gala from Dublin’s iconic Bord Gáis Energy Theatre. This is a truly epic ending to Ireland’s premier film festival.
SPECIAL EFFECTS: This production may contain Strobe Lighting, Flashing Lights, Smoke and Haze.
AGE GUIDANCE: IFCO Rated 15A . Under 15’s must be accompanied by a parent/guardian aged 18+. No under 3’s permitted in the auditorium.

The 11-day festival will close in true Hollywood style with a landmark World Premiere from acclaimed Director John Carney (Sing Street, Once), with the film’s stars Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas in attendance.

Filmed in Ireland and featuring an exciting cast of Irish and international talent, this is the latest musical-comedy from John Carney. The story follows Rick (Paul Rudd), a past-his-prime wedding singer, who crosses paths with Danny (Nick Jonas), a fading boyband star, during a gig. Bonding over music and a late-night jam session, the two strike up an unlikely friendship. However, when Rick and Danny return to their respective worlds, they discover that this chance encounter will upend both their lives in very different ways. POWER BALLAD is a rousing, feel-good story about music, self-respect, friendship, and the price of ambition.
